Last night I found this funny creature on Liam's sandbox. You can see it's molted exoskeleton in the background.

The colors were so bright that I did not recognize it at all and apparantly they only look like this a short while after they emerge. Sure enough I found him again this morning (no picture though) and his body is completley brown and he has red spots near his eyes. I guess we just got lucky.
