Vacation in the Mountains

It was a great week in the mountains with no cell coverage, internet or responsibilities. Our trip began with a visit from the Steele's. They were on their way to a big kayaking adventure the next day so Julie and I took to the lake for a short paddle.

Liam's first mountain hike.
We went to the top of Goodnow Mountain.
He enjoyed the ride

At the top of the fire tower overlooking Rich Lake.
Last summer, I was there for a week doing graduate work while I was pregnant.

The whole family at the top of the mountain.
There was a park on the lake with swings that Liam loved.
At the end of the Blue Ridge trail we found a nice beach for lunch.Liam needed some rinsing after playing in the sand/dirt before we hiked back to the car.

Our happy little hikerThis is Rich Lake Trail in Huntington Forest.
I spent all of my time in the Adirondacks on this trail last summer finishing up graduate school.

On our way back from Lake Placid we cooled off in Lower Cascade Lake.
Liam's first fine dining experience at The Owl. They didn't have high chairs so Chuck had to drive back to the house for his booster seat but Liam got some cantaloupe sorbet for all of the confusion.Back to the beach....
We spent a lot of time there because it was unusually hot.

Liam loved watching everything through the sliding doors.
Here he is obsessing over Grady.

At the end of the week he found the television but it wasn't about finding Elmo.
Clearly we are going to have some vanity issues.

It was a wonderful week and everyone slept all the way home.....
